This years’ golf day raised over £9,000 for Destination Florida. The best ever sum raised to date. Well done and thank you to all who supported the day and gave so genorously with donations and bids for the auction.
The weather threatened to ruin the day but although the rain overnight made the ground soft we had sunshine virtually all day with a couple of light showers.
There were 30 teams playing with the usual innovative team names aiming for a prize The best team name “White Walkers” proved prophetic as the lads had just come back from Turkey on a golf break at 4:30am and they looked like the name implied.
All The President’s Men, Phil Smitham, Mark Tennant, Ian Wilmott and Paul Kindred, from LGDGC won the overall prize winning the trophy, with “Lytham is going to get cha” from Encirc coming a very close second.
Phil Walker was our MC for the night and did exceptionally well on the auction raising £3,020.
Our thanks go to everyone who gave so genorously, and those who bid in the auction, which included a VIP box at Salford Red Devils, tickets for the Lytham Proms and concerts at The Preston Guildhall to name just a few of the items. We are planning for next year in conjunction with Kingsland Drinks who give so much time and support to the event and look forward to, hopefully, matching or even beating this years’ amount.
As soon as know we will publish the date for your diaries and look forward to seeing you all, come rain or shine!!
