R&J Facilities are pleased to announce their continued support of the Lostock Girls Football Team and they have provided us with an end of year report demonstrating how well they are progressing and developing their squad.
Season 2015/16 The girls this season have done incredibly well; the steps forward they have made into their first season playing in a 7 a side format have been huge! They began pre-season, playing in a tournament being knocked out by the eventual winners in the semi-finals on penalties and were ready for the big kick off. The girls started the season superbly with a long unbeaten run, playing with ability, desire, confidence and team work. Every manager at the end of every game commented how well the team had played. The team ended the first half of the season unbeaten and top of the league, deservedly making the top cut with all the club associated teams. The second half of the season was more challenging with the weather playing its part with games on then off and weeks not playing. Indoor training also seemed to affect the team and the girls lost their next two games narrowly by one goal in each match. Outside training came and the girls were immediately back to normal in the first game back, taking the lead away from home, only to concede in the last few seconds, before winning their final game. The girls have continued to progress, with 3 representing Lancashire F.A. at tournaments, whilst every training session the girls continue to work hard with an increasing number coming to train. The team has grown from 3 players to 17 in three seasons as news spreads! Above all the girls have enjoyed the season (including the Christmas team bonding party!) and are ready for the summer tournaments. In addition Lostock Hall Juniors Football Club, (covering a number of ages/teams) has just been awarded the prestige Lancashire F.A. Charter Standard Club of the Year! Well done girls and here is to an even better season next year!! Comments are closed.
